Wire Hardware to a Line
Hardware connects directly to a party line or feed through a bridge line. Configured line ports are no longer needed.
Feed a Line from Hardware
Section titled “Feed a Line from Hardware”Open Bridges, add a line, and choose the party line or feed as its target. Enable Input, then choose the capture device and channel. The hardware is a separate participant on that line.
Take a Return from a Line
Section titled “Take a Return from a Line”Enable Output on the same bridge line and choose the playback device and channel. The output carries every other contributor to the target, without the audio entering through this bridge line.
An output-only bridge line monitors the target without contributing audio. An input-only bridge line contributes without opening a return channel.
Set Up a Four-Wire
Section titled “Set Up a Four-Wire”Use one bridge line with both Input and Output enabled. Keeping both legs on one row gives them one identity for mix-minus: the return excludes the input on that row. If two hardware circuits target the same party line or feed, create two bridge lines; each circuit then hears the other and never itself.
Each leg uses one licence port while the line runs, on the built-in bridge as on a standalone one, so a four-wire uses two. A line that does not fit the licence shows Refused with a Retry button; see Connect and Manage Bridges.
Test the Return
Section titled “Test the Return”Enable Test tone on the output leg to replace received audio with a local tone. Turn it off to resume the line return. The test does not change the target or consume another licensed direction.
Remove Hardware
Section titled “Remove Hardware”Removing a bridge line releases its hardware channels, licence ports and runtime matrix attachment. Deleting its target makes the row show Target missing and releases its ports; the line keeps its settings until you select another user, party line, or feed, or delete it.
